From the centre of Neumarkt take the Fleimstal road climbing in the direction of Montan, turn right for Pinzon at the crossing (road for Castelfeder) and then immediately left on the path leading through orchards and on upwards to Pinzonerstraße. Before you reach the village of Montan, there is a signpost 'Promenaden-Wanderweg' on the right. This is where the old railway line begins. Continue on this path almost uninterrupted for 14 km until you reach Kaltenbrunn. The ascent reaches about 4% and even at its highest point does not deviate much from this. Pass by several farms until you reach Glener Viadukt on which you cross the valley.
Continue on this path named 'Ferrovia della Val di Fiemme' after it crosses the national road that runs from Montan to Truden. Go through a 140 metre long tunnel, cross a bridge then go through the following tunnel until you reach the small valley leading to Schloß Enn. Continue in the direction of the national road 'delle Dolomiti' and then proceed on it for a kilometre. After the station in Kalditsch you reach again the old railway line. At Pichler Hof continue for a few hundred metres on a tarmac road and turn left at a farm into orchards.
Pass a chapel at restaurant 'Pausa' then turn right and continue until you reach the old station at 956 m above sea level. After two kilometres you will reach the old station of Kaltenbrunn at 1005 m above sea level.
From here continue on the national road until, after two kilometres, you reach Truden. Go through the village following the signposts for Montan then go downhill until you reach Mühlen (890m). Here turn in the direction of 'Gschnon' and go past the few houses that make up the village. The tarmac road ends after a small valley. Follow the signpost '3' for Neumarkt which leads to a gravel path. Leave this soon and continue on a forest path until you reach 'Kanzel'. The descent does not present any problems even though the steep and stony parts need a bit of care. You will reach another forest path that leads past a limekiln and on through the vineyards in Mazon. After reaching the tarmac road, continue the long descent on it until you reach the starting point of Neumarkt.
