Das Wandergebiet in den Dolomiten
It is 15 minutes from the main square of Auer to the mountain and a further
30 minutes via the cat ladder. From the main square past Hotel Markushof,
ascend Truidn Weg to the church square with the Marienkirche (church).
Pass this by on the right and go up Wasserfallweg. There are white-red markings
at several places.
The path stops very close to the mountain. Go up some steps on your right to
the broad water protection wall and take a few steps on this up to the foot of
the mountain.
This is where the so-called cat ladder (path No. 2) begins. On the narrow mountain
ridge about 700 steps in the rocks lead up to the waterfall.
Benches invite you to take a rest and wide extensive views delight the eye. Above
you can look into the romantic, rocky ravine of Schwarzenbach.
Walking enthusiasts can continue on the shady wood path. Pass some mountain farms
and in 1.5 hours you will reach Haus Sonne (bar is not open) on Aldeiner Straße.
Here you will find a scheduled bus to take you back to Auer.
